Why we get stuck
Why We Get Stuck on Our Healthy Body Journey
Ever feel like you’re doing all the things — the salads, the early alarms, the workouts that make you question your life choices — and yet… you’re stuck?
Yep. You’re not alone.
Getting "stuck" on the journey to a healthier body isn’t a sign you’re failing. It’s actually a pretty normal (and dare I say, necessary) part of the process. Here’s why:
1️⃣ Our brains love comfort.
Your brain is wired to keep you safe and cozy. New habits? They feel risky. Change? Scary. Even if you know that change is good, your mind might fight it like a toddler refusing broccoli.
2️⃣ We focus only on the surface.
It’s easy to get stuck in the “eat less, move more” narrative. But real change happens when we look deeper — at the stress, the self-talk, the emotional triggers. When we don’t address what’s underneath, we stay in the same loops.
3️⃣ We forget to celebrate small wins.
We tend to think only the big milestones count. But guess what? Every walk, every meal choice, every moment you choose grace over guilt deserves a high five. Small wins build big momentum.
4️⃣ We try to do it alone.
Let’s face it: going solo can get lonely and overwhelming. Accountability, support, and someone to cheer you on (and call you out, kindly) can make all the difference.
Here’s the good news: stuck isn’t permanent. It’s just a signal that something needs to shift.
If you’re feeling stuck today, take a breath. Be gentle with yourself. And remember — you don’t have to do this perfectly. You just have to keep going.
I’ll be here cheering you on every step of the way. You got this.
